ALAMOSA, Colo. (February 10, 2016) -- After a night full of hard-fought matches Adams State University fell to New Mexico Highlands University, 23-20, in the season's final home dual. The Grizzlies got off to a quick start with wins by
Ian Wingstrom (125) and Martin Ramiez (133). Wingstrom edged out a 5-4 win over Jacob Espana as Ramirez made quick work of his opponent, finishing with a 17-1 tech fall before the end of the opening period.

After a competitive eight minutes of wrestling in the 165 weight class,
Koery Windham edged out a 3-2 win over Juan Alvarado.
Dakota Bencomo also gave a great performance, finishing with a 6-3 decision over Luis Terrazas.

It was a night to forget for
Joshua Salas (141). Salas trailed the entire match before losing by tech fall to Dan Gaylor.
Devin Vasquez (149) wrestled hard but came up short as he fell to Reis Humphrey, 8-4. It was also a rough night for
Nevada Bencomo (197) who was on the wrong end of a 7-0 shutout to Cody Marquez.

New Mexico Highlands had no one to wrestle
Tuli Laulu in the heavyweight class, which gave Laulu a win by forfeit. With no wrestlers in the 157 and 174 weight class, the Grizzlies were forced to forfeit those matches.

th at Colorado School of Mines.Â
