GRAND JUNCTION—The Adams State University softball team battled with the Regis Rangers in an 11-inning pitchers dual in which all the runs scored in the game were unearned and the Grizzlies fell 4-1. With that being the second loss of the 2016 Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference Tournament, the Grizzlies' season ended.
The starting pitcher
Kaitlin Hoffmann pitched a complete game gem that saw Adams State and Regis both plate runs in the opening inning before 9 scoreless innings in which Hoffmann had a streak of 11 in a row sat in the middle.
The big blow game in the top of the 11th inning as a line drive at first baseman
Kelsi Kautz was ruled and error and three runs came in to give the Rangers the win.
The game also showcased several great defensive plays of the game in which ASU made ESPN worthy plays to keep in the game including getting out of a bases loaded jam twice.
