WLAX| Grizzlies wrap up season with loss to Skyhawks

DURANGO, Colo. (April 29th, 2016)— The Adams State University women's lacrosse team wrapped up their 2016 season, as they traveled to Fort Lewis College to take on the Skyhawks in a Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference (RMAC) match up earlier Friday. The Grizzlies were unable to stop the Skyhawks, as they fell 18-3.

The first quarter saw Fort Lewis score five unanswered goals before Dayna Jarrell found the back of the net to cut the Skyhawks lead to 5-1. Shortly after Jarrell's goal, Alleah Baltzer netted her first goal of the game to cut the deficit to three goals.

However, the end of the first quarter saw Fort Lewis add on four more goals to go up 9-2 heading into halftime.

The Skyhawks would go on a eight-goal run to increase their lead to 17-2 before Cera Cyster scored the Grizzlies' last goal. This marked Cyster's tenth goal of the season.

Fort Lewis would net the final goal of the game.

Grizzly goaltender, Alyse Mims, would finish the game with sixteen saves. The Grizzlies would manage nine shots, with six of those on target.
