ALAMOSA, Colo. (September 18th, 2016)—The Adams State University Grizzlies women's soccer team ended their two game home stint with a 2-1 victory over the Colorado State University-Pueblo ThunderWolves earlier on Sunday. Adams State is now 5-1 on their season.
The Grizzlies struck first with
Natalie Wheelock, assisted by
Dezirae Armijo, to score her second goal of the season. Wheelock's goal would be the lone goal of the first period.
The second period saw Adams State take a 2-0 lead over the ThunderWolves, as
Lacey Daniel, assisted by
Madison Furbush, was able to score off of a header. Daniel's goal came in the sixty-third minute of play.
CSUP was able to cut the lead in half in the eighty-fifth minute of play, however their late surge would not be enough.
Grizzly goalkeeper,
Teagan Moore, would add four more saves to her season. Adams State would have twelve total shots on net from nine different Grizzlies.
Up next for Adams State is a match up against the Metropolitan State University of Denver Roadrunners on September 23
