ALAMOSA, Colo. (September 2, 2015) –
Brett Bentley's first regular season game as head coach of the Grizzlies men's soccer team was a memorable one. A game that was delayed 90 minutes by a lightning storm pitted the Adams State Grizzlies (1-0) against the Texas A&M International Dirt Devils (0-1).
Adams State would strike early in the first half by way of
Symon Fabbricatore's goal, with an assist by
Shane Wagner. The Grizzlies would hold a 1-0 lead all the way into halftime, a halftime that would last an extra hour and a half due to a weather delay. In the second half, TAMUI would dominate, taking 16 shots to Adams State's 0. Ryan Hodgson would tie the game up at the 75:56 mark on the assist from Javier Soto. Midway through overtime,
Dylan Udero would end the game with the first goal of his career to give Adams State the victory.
Up next, the Grizzlies will travel to Portales, New Mexico to take on Texas-Permian Basin (0-1) on September 5
th. The Falcons lost their opener 1-2 to St. Thomas on September 1
st. The next home game will be on September, 11
