ALAMOSA, Colo. (September 2nd, 2016)—The Adams State University Grizzlies women's soccer team kicked off thier 2016 campaign with a 2-0 victory over the visitng Texas A&M International University Dustdevils.
The Grizzlies got on the board first with
Dezirae Armijo, assisted by
Sloan Foster, scoring the first goal of the season. Adams State took the 1-0 lead at the 12:27 mark of the first period.
With just under two minutes left before the half,
Elaine Van de Wille found the back of the Dustdevils' net off of an assist by
Shelby McBain. The Grizzlies would enter into the half up 2-0.
TAMIU would take seven shots in the second half, but Adams State goaltender,
Teagan Moore, would make the saves to get the shut out.
Overall, the Grizzlies would tally eighteen shots, with seven of those shots being on target, and Moore would make six saves on the day.
Carly Kading,
Daisy Perez,
Natalie Wheelock, Loudres Padilla, and
Arin Seidlitz each had two goals in the match up.
