ALAMOSA, Colo. (January 22nd, 2017) --- The woes continue for the Adams State wrestling as the team loses their fifth straight duel after beating No. 18 Fort Hayes earlier this month. This time, the opponent was No. 14 Central Oklahoma (14-0) who managed to defeat Adams State (1-6) 33-9 last night.
The night started with the 165 pounders. Issac Lopez got the better of Dakota Head in a narrow 11-10 decision to put the Grizzlies up 3-0. Adams would lose the next four weight classes by way of a major decision, decision, fall, and tech fall. This run would put Central Oklahoma ahead 18-3. Adams got back on the board when
Darek Huff won a 1-0 decision over Zac D'Amico at the 125 pound weight class.
Martin Ramirez kept the momentum going with a 3-2 decision over Rio Zamora at the 133 level. Ramirez put the Grizzlies within reach, only trialing by nine with three matches remaining. That is as close as it would be for the rest of the night.
