ALAMOSA, Colorado– The Adams State University volleyball team will host its Pink Out games this Friday and will feature the ASU Men's Volleyball club team and homemade food prior to the main game. The Men's club team will play on Friday at 4:00PM. The Grizzlies will host #12 Regis at 7:00PM on Friday and Chadron State on Saturday at 5:00PM.
Recently In Adams State Volleyball:
The Grizzlies lost both games last weekend to the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference's second and fourth place teams leaving them 7-10 on the year and 3-5 in conference. Both opponents (CCU and #22 CSM) won 3-1 in Alamosa.
About Regis:
The Rangers are the best team in the RMAC at 16-2, 8-0 and are ranked 12
th in the nation. They have already beaten the RMAC's second place team (Mines 8-0) as well, though it was not officially an RMAC game. In addition, they have also beaten the #10, #17, #20, and another #20 ranked team 12 sets to three. Nikki Kennedy leads the conference with a hitting percentage of .383. They will also be tough to score on having two of the RMAC's top two blockers in Kristen Hornung and Kennedy.
Last Meeting:
The last meeting on October 14
th, 2016 was a 3-0 win for the Rangers in Denver. Despite the sweep, no set was won outside of three points.
Katelyn Schwartz had 20 assists in defeat.
About Chadron State:
The Eagles are having a similar season to the Grizzlies at 6-10 overall and 3-5 in conference. They are currently on a two game winning streak after beating Black Hills State and South Dakota Mines, a feat that ASU also achieved several weeks ago. Aijahnae Springs and Dominika Senkerikova will lead the team offensively with 145 and 142 kills respectively. On the defensive side, Emily Bruce has 247 digs on the season.
Last Meeting:
The Grizzlies dominated last year's meeting winning 3-0 on October 15
th. That win sparked a five game winning streak for Adams.
Rachael Ringler had 28 assists and 13 digs on the night.
