WSOC | Grizzlies Draw in Double Overtime

ALAMOSA – The Adams State University women's soccer team tied with Westminister University, 1-1, Friday afternoon. The teams were forced into double overtime, but neither could pull out a victory.

The day was looking bright for the Grizzlies as Kendall Weld broke a scoreless tie in the 54th minute. The shot earned Weld her third goal of the season, a team high for the Grizzlies.

The game turned in the final minutes as Westminister evened up the match in the 72nd minute. Aimee Kurfurst earned her first goal of the season with a rebound and shot into an open net for the Griffins. Both teams ended regulation tied at one. The first over time featured just one shot from Westminster. It looked as if the Grizzlies were going to lose in double overtime, until Corri Zaiger came up with an incredible save with just three minutes left in the match.

The Grizzlies will look to bounce back against Colorado Mesa University Sunday afternoon in Alamosa.
