WSOC | Grizzlies Comeback to Draw against Mavericks

ALAMOSA – The Adams State University women's soccer team finished its' weekend with a draw, 1-1 against Colorado Mesa University Sunday afternoon.
 
Adams State currently sits in eleventh place behind Westminister University in a tightly-grouped Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference. The Grizzlies are hoping to qualify for the RMAC Tournament as the top six teams move on. With six points in conference play, Adams sits two wins outside of conference play with three games remaining. Sunday will be a huge game, as the team takes on the sixth-place Fort Lewis College. Following that the team finishes on the road, taking on conference-leading Colorado Mines and finishes with Colorado Christian.
 
Colorado Mesa struck first as Zoe Peterson nailed a shot off the keeper's hands into the net. Mesa had 11 shots in the first half, but Teagan Moore made seven saves to keep the game in check.
 
Shayla Reeves would answer back with her own goal in the 63rd minute. The Grizzlies outworked the Mavericks with a five to one shot count.
 
The Grizzlies will take the field against Fort Lewis College in Alamosa Sunday October 22nd for Senior Day.
