GOLDEN - In bizarre blizzard conditions, Adams State University women's soccer team couldn't keep up with the fast paced No. 18-ranked Colorado School of Mines, falling 5-0 this afternoon. Adams closes out its season Saturday against Colorado Christian.
Despite a rough four-goal half, the Grizzlies kept the Orediggers at bay for much of the first half. The team did not allow a goal through 20 minutes before Jennifer Kendall broke open the scoring. Four minutes later, Kendall would pass to her teammate for a goal. With just thirty second left in the half, the Orediggers scored again to put the game out of reach.
In the second half, a Mines corner kick bounced off of an Adams defender for an own goal three minutes into the start.
The stats were lop-sided, as Mines put up 39 shots in the snow, 22 of which were on goal. The Grizzlies never put up any wild shots, as the team had shots on goal on three of their four shots.
In goal,
Teagan Moore started the first 57 minutes, making eight saves.
Corri Zaiger would come in relief, put up as many saves.
