VB| Colorado Christian & Colorado Mines Set To Visit Alamosa

ALAMOSA, Colorado– The Adams State University volleyball team makes its return back home for the next four games. Colorado Christian will visit Plachy Hall tomorrow night at 7:00PM and the 22nd ranked Orediggers from Colorado Mines will be in town Saturday at 5:00PM.
 
Recently In Adams State Volleyball:
The Grizzlies find themselves at 7-8 overall and 3-3 in the RMAC. Last weekend's games ended with a win and a loss. Friday's contest and Colorado Mesa went to a fifth set but saw the Mavericks pull away for the win. Saturday went much better with a 3-0 win over Western State, the RMAC's last place team.
 
About Colorado Christian:
The Cougars are 8-7 on the year and are a solid 5-1 in conference play. Despite starting the year 2-6, the team has put together a 6-1 run including a current four game winning streak. Sophia Proano will be the key player to watch for with her 204 kills and 37 total blocks.
 
Last Meeting:
Senior night of last year was bitter with the Cougars winning 3-2. Christian won the first two, Adams won the next two, CCU then dominated the fifth set winning 15-8. Hannah Atkinson led all scorers with 18 kills on the night.  
 
About Colorado Mines:
Game two of the weekend will not get any easier. The #22 ranked Orediggers are 12-3 and a perfect 6-0 in the RMAC and are the reigning conference champions. The team is currently on a six game win streak with the last loss coming against #21 Regis 1-3. An astonishing five players have over 100 kills this season for CSM. Ellie Monarch also has the best hitting percentage in the conference at .385.  
 
Last Meeting:
Arguably the most heartbreaking loss of the season last year was at the conclusion of the RMAC Tournament's opening matchup between Adams and Mines. The Orediggers squeaked out a 28-26 win in the first set before the Grizzlies took the next two. A 12-1 run in the fourth paved the way for CSM to win the round. Mines would then go on to defeat Metro 3-1 for the tournament crown.
