ALAMOSA– The Adams State University men's soccer team fell to the Metropolitan State University Roadrunners, 1-0, on Sunday.
The Grizzlies offense could only collect two shots on goal with seven shots total.
Leo Barba had a great look to get the Grizzlies on the board in the 36
th minute, but the shot would bang off of the crossbar.
The Roadrunners scored the only goal of the game when Blake Miller drilled a shot into the top right corner of the net in the 18
th minute. Both defenses looked strong for the remainder of the game while holding each other scoreless.
Adams State played another gritty game by keeping their opponent on their toes and relying on their defense to keep them in the game. Both teams combined for 32 penalties and seven yellow cards. The Grizzlies are in the top five in the RMAC in fouls with 154.
Adams State moves to 6-5-1 and 3-4-1 in conference play. With the loss, the team moves back to seventh in the conference standings.
Adams State will look to end their three game winless streak when they take on top-ranked Colorado School of Mines in Golden, Colorado this Friday. The Orediggers are 7-1 in conference play. The Friday night contest will begin at 5 PM.
