Spearfish, S.D. – The Adams State University women's soccer team traveled to South Dakota for a match against Black Hills State University Sunday. Adams State earned its' second win of the season in a 5-0 shut out over Black Hill State.
The first half got underway with a goal from Adams State's
Natalie Wheelock in the second minute of action. After one goal in the first half, Adams State went off in the second scoring four goals. The first goal of the half came from
Lourdes Padilla shot into the upper corner. Adams State's
Kendall Weld scored her first two goals of the season in the 75
th and 85
th minutes of the match.
Lacey Daniel followed up with a goal of her own, making it her first of the season.
Following the first goal in the first half, the offense for both teams slowed down as the teams combined for only nine shots. However, there was not a lack of fouls with 13 from Black Hills State and nine from Adams State. The second featured a faster pace with the shots combined shots rising from nine to 17, respectfully.
The Adams State University women's soccer team will be back on the field October 13
th in a match against Westminister College at the ASU soccer field.
