Alamosa, Colorado– The Adams State University men's basketball team (2-4, 0-0 RMAC) will begin conference play on the road at New Mexico Highlands Friday at 7:00PM and continue at CSU-Pueblo Saturday at 7:30PM.  
 
Recently In Adams State Men's Basketball:
The Grizzlies have just returned the Aloha State where they tasted the season's first success. The team defeated California State Dominguez Hills 83-82 and Hawaii Pacific 82-80 before losing to division I's Hawaii by a respectable 77-87 score.   
 
About New Mexico Highlands: 
The Cowboys are off to a good start at 5-1 with all of those games coming out of the state of New Mexico. The lone loss came from Eastern New Mexico by a score of 61-66 and the only out-of-state game was against Johnson and Wales, which was still played in New Mexico. The start comes as a bit of a surprise after the team's 1-7 start to last season. They also lost an exhibition game to Wyoming, but it did not count towards the season. Highlands is a perfect 3-0 at home this year. Jacob Holland has led the team thus far with 16.3 points per game.  
 
Last Meeting: 
The series was 1-1 last season with the Grizzlies winning 85-72 at home and dropping one 81-85 on the road. 
Brandon Sly and 
Shane Johnson each had 19 in the win. Sly did even better in the loss with 26 points and seven assists.
 
About CSU-Pueblo:
The ThunderWolves are off to a 3-3 start but have won the last two. The team finished third in the RMAC a year ago. CSUP will rely on the duo of Will Newman (18 PPG) and Donovan Oldham (17.2 PPG).
 
Last Meeting:
Adams State lost both meeting last season. The Grizzlies fell 75-80 on December 3
rd, 2016, and 59-83 on February 3
rd, 2017. Sly was again the workhorse in defeat, scoring 35 points over both games.
