SALT LAKE CITY, Utah (February 25th, 2017) --- The Adams State women's basketball team (2-23) wrapped up their season in Salt Lake City tonight against Westminster (11-15). Despite a dead even second half, the Griffins did enough in the first half to get by the Grizzlies 67-49.

The game started on a 6-0 Westminster run.
Karleigh Cooley would then break the streak with a pair of free throws. The Griffins would keep their distance for the remaining six minutes to take a 21-12 lead after one quarter. Westminster would pour it on in the second, leading by as much as 18 points; a lead they would carry into halftime.
Cydney McHenry and
Lejla Hadzialijagic both had five points at the half. Aubrie Vale had an astounding 15 of the 44 total points at the break for the Griffins.

Down 44-26, Adams State matched Westminster in scoring 14-14 in the third and 9-9 in the fourth. Unfortunately, breaking even in the second half kept the deficit the same as it was at halftime. The Griffins held on for the 67-49 win by the final horn.

The Grizzlies again forced more turnovers than they committed, forcing 16 on the night. The rebound battle was dead even at 40 each.
Lejla Hadzialijagic led all Grizzlies with 16 points and three steals. Aubrie Vale had a double-double 23 points and 11 rebounds for the Griffins. Â Â Â Â Â Â
