ALAMOSA- The Adams State University softball team was unable to pull out a win during Saturday's Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference doubleheader with the Colorado Christian University Cougars. The doubleheader, which doubled as the Grizzlies' "Strike-out Cancer" day, saw ASU fall 8-0 in the first game before falling in the second game, 7-2.
In the first game, the two pitchers were locked in a pitching dual through the first four innings before the Cougars finally scratched through. They were able to score three runs in the top of the fifth, two in the sixth and three in the seventh.
Adams State was held scoreless as they had five hits but had three errors.
In the second game, The Cougars struck first but ASU rallied back and with an 11-pitch triple by

Marissa Harmon doubled her home to give ASU a 2-1 lead.Â
The lead was held until the top of the fourth inning when the Cougars scored two runs before they scored three in the fifth and one in the sixth.
The Grizzlies fall to 16-26 overall and 15-17 in the RMAC. They will return to action next Saturday and Sunday when they take a long road trip to Chadron State to take on the Eagles.
