VB| Grizzlies Remain Undefeated In RMAC Play In A Five Set Thriller

Alamosa, Colo. - The Adams State University volleyball team (6-5, 2-0 RMAC) remained undefeated in conference play tonight as they defeated Black Hills State (4-6, 1-1 RMAC) in five sets.

In arguably the most thrilling game of the season, the Adams State Grizzlies prevailed in an extremely tough Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference Test. ASU got through the first with a solid 25-17 win. The Yellow Jackets bounced back with a 25-20 win to tie things up heading into the break. In a tightly contested third set, the Grizzlies fended off a comeback effort to win 25-23. Black Hills powered back to a 25-18 fourth set win. In a game deciding fifth set, the Grizzlies jumped out to a 10-5 lead. From there, BHSU would cut the lead little by little, but it would not be enough as ASU persevered 15-10 to remain perfect in RMAC play.

Mallory Grimsrud led the team offensively with 23 kills. Gabrielle Timmen came up big defensively with 30 digs. Setter, Katelyn Schwartz was also a monster with a season high 55 assists on the night.

The team will now embark on a four game road trip starting with MSU-Denver on September 22nd at 7:00PM.
