ALAMOSA – The Adams State University women's soccer team kicked its weekend off at home against Metro State University Friday at the ASU Soccer Field. Unfortunately for Adams State, home field was a nonfactor as Metro State escaped with a 2-0 win.

Elise Boisnard gave Metro State the early lead with a line drive for a goal in the fourth minute. After leading 1-0 at the half, Reigna Banks would increase the lead with a swift goal passed the defender into the net. Unfortunately for Adams State, the 2-0 deficit became final.

The first half saw a more aggressive Metro State offense as they outshot Adams State 10-6. However, Adams State's
Teagan Moore racked up six saves throughout the first half. A yellow card was also assessed to Metro State's Raegan Staib in the 19
th minute.

Adams State came out a more aggressive team in the second half. The women came out firing as they put up eleven shots to Metro's seven. Unfortunately for Adams State, none of those resulted in a goal. Metro State led with physicality, earning six fouls with a red card and an ejection from Staib.

This was the first of two home games for the Grizzlies this weekend. Adams State will be take the field Sunday at 2:30 pm in a match against Regis University.
