ALAMOSA – Adams State University men's soccer team needed only one goal to get past Westminster University (Utah) on Sunday at the ASU Soccer Field. The team improves to 5-3 overall with an even 2-2 conference record.
The Grizzlies got on the board in the 23
rd minute after
Carlos Castro found an open sprintingÂ
Drayden Ricks for the goal. It was Ricks third goal of the season.
The Grizzlies defense once again played a spectacular game, coming away with their fourth shutout of the year.
Austin Baumeister picked up his third shutout of the season with a new career-high in saves with seven.
Adams State and Westminster University combined for twenty-seven fouls and five yellow cards.
The Grizzlies will be back home for another game against conference foe, Fort Lewis, this Friday. The Skyhawks are currently 2-2-3. The game will be at the ASU Soccer Field at 4 PM.
