PORTALES, NM— The Adams State University women's soccer team wrapped up its' weekend road-trip with a 2-1 double overtime victory over Eastern New Mexico University Sunday. The win brought Adams State's record to an even 1-1 for the season.

The game was as close as they come with both teams knotted up at one at the end of regulation. It was in the second overtime where a swift kick from
Valentina Loza pushed Adams State past Eastern New Mexico for its' first victory of the season.

Adams State found itself in an early hole after giving up a goal to Eastern New Mexico's Hayden Zuniga in the first ten minutes of regulation. Â It was a quiet first half, as both teams combined for eight shots with only one save coming from Eastern New Mexico.

The second half featured a more physical match with Adams State earning five fouls and Eastern New Mexico six. Adams State's
Lacey Daniel and
Natalie Wheelock earned themselves both a yellow card midway through the second half. Adams State kept the game alive with a header by
Breana Flores, assisted by Loza to even the match in the 85
th minute. Â
