ALAMOSA, Colo– The Adams State University volleyball team will host its first home game of the season tomorrow afternoon with a 1:00 PM matchup with Angelo State University. The team will then travel to their second tournament of the year at the Southwest Baptist Tournament in Bolivar, Missouri.
 
Recently In Adams State Volleyball:
The Grizzlies last competed in the Britkare Lady Buff Classic in Canyon, Texas last weekend. During the tournament, the team went 2-2 with wins over Texas-Permian Basin and Southwestern Oklahoma State, and losses to St. Mary's and West Texas A&M. Mallory Grimsrud was named to the All-Tournament team for her terrific play. The redshirt senior recorded 51 kills over the two days of competition.
 
About Angelo State:
The No. 9 ranked Rams enter the game a perfect 4-0 after crushing everyone in three sets at the Kathleen Brasfield ASU Invitational last weekend. This should come as no surprise after Angelo State's 2016 season finished with a 34-4 record, a Lone Star Conference title, and an Elite Eight NCAA Tournament finish. The team is led by senior outside hitter, Brianna Sotello who has posted 49 kills on the year.
 
Last Meeting:
The last contest between the two teams was on September 7^th, 2016 in Pueblo. The Rams won 3-0 by a narrow 25-21 margin in the first and cruising 25-15 in the second and third sets. In the loss, Mallory Grimsrud had 12 kills and a block.
 
About the Southwestern Baptist Tournament:
The Grizzlies will compete against Emporia State University, Drury University, Southwest Baptist University, and Oklahoma Baptist University. The best of these teams are the Drury Panthers at 3-1.
