Hays, Kansas - The Adams State University wrestling team (0-3) came extremely close to the win again today at Fort Hays (1-2) but a forfeit at 197 would lead to their downfall and a 12
th straight loss dating back to last season. Ironically, the win before that was at home against the Tigers.

Darek Huff scored a pinfall over Conrad Cole at 125 pounds at the 55 second mark to give the Grizzlies a solid six point advantage.
Luis Gurule would follow that lead up with six of his own pinning Dy`Juan Carney in 4:53 at 133.
The next matchup featured the No. 3 ranked 141 pounder in the country, in Brandon Ball. Though
Dylan Udero stood his ground, the Tigers won the 8-3 decision to get on the board.
Natrelle Demison took momentum back over Efe Osaghae via 3-2 decision at 149 pounds. Issac Lopez would then make a statement at 157 with a 12-4 major decision over Brody Lewis.

Now up 19-3 the Grizzlies would falter the rest of the contest. The three went as follows:

The turning point then came at 197 when the Grizzlies placed no competitor in and the Tigers were awarded six points thus putting them in the lead for the first time at 21-19. Jericho Garcia could not get "IT" done in the heavyweight round losing a 4-2 decision to Dakota Gulley giving the home team the 24-19 win.

The team will now face No. 23 Lindenwood on the road this Saturday. Â
