Denver, Colorado - The Adams State University men's basketball team (10-10, 8-6 RMAC) were dropped by the exact same margin as the women tonight as they fell to Regis University 69-89 in Denver. The loss drops ASU back to .500 for the second time in a week.
Â
The Rangers got off to a ridiculous start going up by 17 a little past the midway point in the first half. They would eventually push that lead to 28 by halftime. Regis would go on to lead by as much as 37 and the Grizzlies would never really threaten the RMAC's 6
th place team. Adams did cut it to 17 with one minute left but would give up three to end the game 69-89 in favor of the home team.
Â
The Grizzlies suffered in many areas, giving up 24 second chance points and 48 bench points. They were also outrebounded 50-31, including 17 offensive rebounds given up.
Trace Dimeff led Adams State with 12 points and an assist.
Mike Thomas would add another 11 points and seven rebounds. Ty Mcgee put up 18 points, three rebounds, and two blocks for the Rangers.
Â
The Grizzlies will return home for the next three games against Colorado Mines on 1/27, CSU-Pueblo on 2/2, and New Mexico Highlands on 2/3. Â
