PUEBLO, Colo. - The Adams State Men's Basketball team earned its' second consecutive win on the road tonight against CSU-Pueblo. The win brings the Grizzlies to a 2-0 record in the RMAC.

The Grizzlies kicked off the game with a nine point lead in the first five minutes of action. The Grizzlies led 15-6 over the Thunderwolves for their largest lead in the half. However, the Thunderwolves would soon erase the deficit.

By the midway mark of the first half the Thunderwolves had tied the game at 17 all. The Thunderwolves went on to take the lead over the Grizzlies 24-19. A Shemar Johnson slam would tie the game back up at 24. The Thunderwolves retained the lead and a halftime lead over the Grizzlies, 39-35.

Adams State shot nearly 47% from the field in the first half. Davere Creighton led the Grizzlies' in scoring with 11 first half points. The Grizzlies held CSU-Pueblo to 45% shooting in the first half. Donovan Oldham was the Thunderwolves leading scorer with 16 points.

The Grizzlies continued to struggle against the Thunderwolves offense in the opening minutes of the second half. The Thunderwolves increased their four point lead to double-digits, 54-43. The Grizzlies responded with an 11-0 run to quickly tie the game at 54 midway through the second half.

The last ten minutes of the second half featured a back-and-forth pace between both teams. The Grizzlies would separate themselves with six minutes remaining, leading 69-66. The Grizzlies finished off the Thunderwolves with a 17-8 run en route to victory.

The Grizzlies shot an astounding 55% from the field in the second half, while shooting nearly 51% for the game. Adams State shot 50% from behind the arc to finish the game. The Grizzlies bench came in clutch outscoring the Thunderwolves 23-9.

Davere Creighton led the Grizzlies with 23 points and 12 rebounds. John Dewey and Shemar Johnson each finished with a respectable 13 points of their own. Rickey Norris, RJ Brown, and Isaiah Nelson finished with 10 points each for the Grizzlies.

The Grizzlies held the Thunderwolves to just 41% shooting from the field and 26% from three. The Thunderwolves were held shutout in fastbreak points by the stifling Grizzly defense. The Thunderwolves largest lead was 11 in the early moments of the second half.

Donovan Oldman led all scorers with 27 points for the Thunderwolves. Jason Anderson posted a double-double with 18 points and 10 rebounds. Gavin Liggett chipped in 10 points in 28 minutes of action for the Thunderwolves.

The Grizzlies continue their road trip tomorrow against New Mexico Highlands. Tip-off is set for 7 p.m. Â
