Box Score Gunnison, Colo. – The Adams State University women's basketball team (5-16, 3-16 RMAC) fell to Western State Colorado University (8-17, 5-14 RMAC) Saturday evening in Gunnison.
 
Poor shooting from the field led for a long night for the Grizzlies. Adams State shot just more than 32 percent from the field and less than 19 percent from three. Meanwhile, Adams allowed Western to shoot more than 54 percent from the field and 53 percent from three. The Grizzlies also struggled from the line making only 11-of-18 free-throws.
 
 The Grizzlies forced the Mountaineers into 23 turnovers which led to 17 points for Adams. However, Western led Adams in every other category. The Mountaineers outscored Adams, 38 to 32 in points in the paint as well bench points, 33-24. Despite causing 23 turnovers by the Mountaineers, the Grizzlies didn't accumulate any fast break points.
 
Lejla Hadzialijagic led the Grizzlies in scoring with 12 points. 
Lauren McDonald added an additional 11 points in just 13 minutes on the court. 
Ki'asha Harris and 
Nicole Broyles-Mortensen dominated the boards, with each grabbing eight rebounds. Western's Katie Dalton had herself a game scoring 20 points while grabbing seven rebounds.
 
Adams travels to Denver for a matchup against Colorado Christian University next Friday. Tip-off is set for 5 p.m.
