ALAMOSA – The No. 21 ranked Adams State University wrestling team (2-10) were again without two of its stars in the 125 and 133 pound weight classes due to nagging injuries. Regardless, Colorado Mesa (5-9-1) was on fire this afternoon handing the Grizzlies a 19-33 loss.

The day started with two forfeits to give the Mavericks a 12-0 lead. Though the Grizzlies had a tough meeting, the four wrestlers who did win, did so in a dominating manner. The Grizzlies would find three more team points when Dakota Bencomo got a 6-2 decision over Donald Negus at 184 pounds. Tuli Laulu ended the afternoon with a thunderous slam to get a fall on Clayton Voytilla at 3:40 at heavyweight.

The Mavericks would win all of the other weight classes, including three by late third period falls.
