ALAMOSA – The Adams State University women's basketball team (5-19, 3-19 RMAC) fell short to Westminster (15-10, 14-7 RMAC) in their final game of the season, 61-57, Thursday evening in Plachy Hall.

It was a slow start for the Grizzlies as they scored only 31 points through the first three quarters. However, Adams State would heat up with a late fourth quarter surge dropping 26 points on Westminster. The Grizzlies finished just four points shy from sending the game into overtime.

Adams State's shooting woes continued making less than 34 percent of their shots. The Grizzlies tied a season low with just one three-pointer made. Lejla Hadzialijagic led the Grizzlies with 19 points and six steals. Brooke Neal chipped in 10 points to go along with five steals. Nicole Broyles-Mortensen grabbed herself a team-high eight boards for the Grizzlies.

Westminster's Hunter Krebs led her team with 14 points on an efficient 7-for-11 shooting. Denise Gonzales had an all-around performance with nine points, six boards and four dimes. The Griffins shot more than 55 percent from the field and a perfect nine-for-nine from the line.

Points in the paint was a huge factor in this game with Westminster leading Adams 42-22. The Grizzlies defensive rebounding proved itself tonight not allowing a single second chance point.

This was the Grizzlies final game of the season. Adams State finished No.14 in the RMAC, just one spot above New Mexico Highlands in last place.
