Recently In Adams State Men's Basketball:
The Grizzlies are on a hot streak lately, winning three straight over the Colorado School of Mines, CSU-Pueblo, and New Mexico Highlands. The surge has the team currently ranked sixth in the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference. The weekend lineup will allow the Grizzlies a shot to move up to fourth or fifth with a good showing and a little help from others. Brandon Sly and Shane Johnson remain fourth and fifth in the RMAC in the points per game category 18 and 17.5 respectively. Sly also ranks second in the conference in assists per game with 5.7.

About Colorado Mesa:
The Mavericks are having a tough time this season at 11-12 overall and sitting in 10th place in the RMAC. Connor Nichols will be key to watch as he averages 18.9 points per game and 7.6 rebounds per game. Emilio Acedo could be a deep threat to watch as he is shooting 45% from three on the year.

Last Meeting:
Mesa won 90-87 in overtime in Alamosa on December 9th, 2017. Emilio Acedo went 5-10 from downtown in the win. Brandon Sly had a shot to send the game to double overtime but would miss a three at the end of the extra period.

About Western State:
The Mountaineers are an improving team. Having started the season with only four wins, the team has now won five more since 2018. Overall, they are 9-14 and sit in 11th place in the RMAC. On January 13th, 2018 they managed to take down No. 22 ranked Colorado School of Mines 79-76 at home. Despite a poor overall standing, the Mountaineers are 7-4 on their own court. Ben Beauchamp will be Western's offensive threat, ranking eighth in the conference in total points. The defensive game is not very intimidating, but Western makes up for it, scoring 82 points a game.

Last Meeting:
Adams State handled Western State fairly easily on December 8th, 2017, winning 94-81 in Alamosa. Frederick Jackson had a double-double that night with 17 points and 10 rebounds.
