ALAMOSA – Adams State University women's lacrosse faced Rockhurst University and No.3-ranked Lindenwood University this past weekend to open up conference play. Adams fell to Rockhurst by a score of 3-18, and to Lindenwood by a score of 2-23. The Grizzlies have 10 days off before they take to the road for the first time this season.

Cera Cyester led the team in the weekend with a pair of goals throughout the time. She also led the team with nine shots, just a shot less than the rest of her teammates combined.

Savannah Penland,
Kendell Baylor and
Jessica Hammer, who each scored a goal this weekend. Hammer continues to lead the team with five goals this season and a shooting percentage greater than .500. She also has a perfect shot to shot-on-goal percentage with nine shots taken this season.

Defensively,
Alexis Wellong had nine groundballs in the contests, as well as make 44 saves. Despite the lopsided scoring, Wellong has shined as she is tied for second in the nation with 15 saves per game.

Adams takes on UCCS on the road March 22 before returning a day later to take on Westminster College (Mo.) at home.
