GOLDEN, Colo. - The Adams State Grizzlies were shut out on Sunday to nationally ranked Colorado School of Mines. The Orediggers scored four goals on an incredible 34 shots to remain a perfect 6-0 in conference play.
Peyton Sanders and Taylor Mcrae put the Orediggers on the board in the first half. The second half was much like the first. The Orediggers dominated both sides of the ball only allowing Adams State to get off three shots. The Orediggers had a season-high 34 shots. Jennifer Kendall and Nicole LaTourette added two more goals to push the lead to four.
The Grizzlies suffered their second shutout of the season and second in a row. Oredigger goalkeeper, Shannon Money, recorded her eighth shutout of the season which leads the nation. The Grizzlies three shots was a season-low. The Orediggers set a school-record with 19 corner kicks in the contest. For the Grizzlies, Corri Zaiger racked up 11 saves behind the net.
The Grizzlies will look to get back on the winning track on Friday, Oct. 5 against MSU-Denver and against UCCS on Sunday, Oct. 7. Both games are home contests to played at the ASU Soccer Field.
