ALAMOSA, Colo. - The Adams State Volleyball team begins its homeslate this weekend with a matchup against Metropolitan State University-Denver Friday, Sept. 7 at 7 p.m. The weekend continues onto Saturday, Sept. 8 at 5 p.m. with a showdown against Chadron State College.
Adams State is coming off a 1-4 outing in the Crystal Inn Classic last weekend. Adams State's lone win came in the team's final match against Western New Mexico, 3-2.
The Grizzlies currently hold a record at 3-5 for the season. Hannah Goddard leads the team with 104 kills, while Rachael Ringler leads the Grizzlies in assists with 322.
Metropolitan State University-Denver has an even record at 4-4 this season. The Roadrunners are coming off a 2-2 split in the Colorado Premiere Challenge this past weekend in Denver. Taylor Duryea leads the team in kills at 104. Morgan Weatherwax and Jessa Megenhardt lead the team in assists at 194 and 120, respectively.
Chadron State College holds a record of 2-6 for the season. The Eagles earned their first two wins against Christian Brothers and Northwestern Oklahoma State in the PSU Classic last weekend. The team is led by Aracely Hernandez and Brooke Gardner who atop the team in kills at a combined 175.
