Adams State Take on Conference Foes in Durango

ALAMOSA, Colo. – The Adams State Women's Volleyball heads to Durango, Colo. to take on the Fort Lewis Skyhawks Tuesday, Oct. 15. The Grizzlies are coming in to the week on a four-game win streak, after improving their record to 7-10 overall and 4-4 in RMAC.
 
Keeping Up with the Grizzlies
This past weekend Adams State defeated the Cowgirls of New Mexico Highlands and the Thunderwolves of CSU-Pueblo. The Grizzlies pulled out a 3-0 in Las Vegas, New Mexico in three intense sets. The Grizzlies also pulled out a tight 3-1 win in four very close sets in Pueblo, Colo. Alexandra MacAskill and Riley Oglevie led the Grizzlies on the attack, each with 21 kills for the weekend. Hannah Goddard and Shannon Mulkey followed close behind, each with 17 kills. Bailey Schlosser was the offensive play maker on the weekend with 67 assists.
 
Scouting the Skyhawks
Fort Lewis College (6-11, 2-6 RMAC) is coming out of a split weekend on the road. The Skyhawks put up a good fight against CSU-Pueblo, but fell 3-0. The Skyhawks bounced back the next day and defeated New Mexico Highlands 3-1 in four close sets. Leading Fort Lewis on the attack this year is Bailey Longacre, holding 137 kills. Assisting on their attack is Payton Harmann, with 361 assists. The Grizzlies will have to keep an eye out for Kamryn Lopez, who has 21 service aces on the season. Defensively, Lopez is leading the team in digs, with 213 and Longacre is leading with 37 blocks.
 
Most recently when these two foes faced off was in Durango, Colo. Where Adams State came out on top 3-1. The Grizzlies took down the Skyhawks, 25-17, 25-19, and 25-23, with Fort Lewis taking the third set 25-15. Grizzly's Grecia Diaz Martinez, Mulkey and Goddard led Adams State each in double-digit kills. Mackenzie Swanson led the team defensively racking up 20 digs.

Coming Up
The Grizzlies will be at home this upcoming weekend to take on Regis University and Colorado Christian for Adams State's Homecoming weekend.
