Grizzlies Downed by Yellow Jackets in Montana

BILLINGS, Mont. – The Adams State Grizzlies were taken down in their first of a two-game set this evening in Billings Montana, as they fell to the Montana State-Billings Yellow Jackets 75-86. It is the Grizzlies first loss in almost three weeks, as they had won their last three games coming in. They will take the floor against MSU –Billings again tomorrow night, looking for redemption.

Kaelin Crane had another solid scoring night in the starting lineup, as he led all scorers with 24 points to go along with 8 rebounds and a pair of blocks. The junior forward now has proven himself as the Grizzlies' premier scorer thus far, and he hopes to continue his hot streak and have his big scoring nights translate to wins.

Unfortunately for both Crane and the Grizzlies, their starting lineup struggled on the night, as only one other starter was in double figures. Rylan O'brien was able to contribute 15 points to the cause, but was a bit inefficient on 6 of 16 shooting in 34 minutes of action. Rickey Norris had a tough night with just 6 points, shooting 2 of 9 from the field and grabbing 5 boards.

The Grizzly guards off the bench, Logan Longo and Szymon Walczak logged nice nights on the score sheet, as both finished with 11 points. Walczak also grabbed 6 rebounds and was a key player on the defensive end. Longo has been the most efficient shooter from three-point range thus far this season, and on Friday he went 3 for 5 from deep. The duo hopes to continue to provide a spark off the bench on both ends, and their experience should be monumental for the otherwise young Grizzly guards in 2019.

On Saturday, the Grizzlies will go right back at it against the Yellow Jackets, hoping to adjust and come out with a win. The game will once again be at 7 PM, and will be the Grizzlies final non-conference contest of the season, before moving into RMAC play.
