ALAMOSA, Colo. – The Adams State Men's and Women's Cross Country teams are set to travel to Canyon, Texas for the 2019 NCAA Division II South Central Regional Cross Country meet hosted by West Texas A&M University this Saturday, November 9
th from "The Range" course. The Grizzlies go into Saturday with hopes of another strong team performance in preparation for the National Championships.
The last race for the Grizzlies came at the 2019 RMAC Championships in Grand Junction, Colo. Two weeks ago where both the Men's and Women's teams put on strong performances. It was the Women who stole the spotlight completely dominating their conference foes and winning the title. They had their share of noble individual performances, as
Stephanie Cotter won the race taking home RMAC Women's Runner of the Year. Her teammate
Brianna Robles was 10
th overall and took home RMAC Freshman of the year. The Grizzlies altogether had six finishers in the top 14 of the race who all took home First-Team All-RMAC honors. They hope to register another big performance on the regional stage this weekend, further cementing their status as the top women's cross country team in the country.
The men's side had their fair share of highlights from the conference meet, finishing second on the day.
Dane Blomquist had a solid race, finishing 8
th, and was the highest finishing Grizzly. He took home First-Team All-RMAC Honors, and joining him on the first-team list was fellow Grizzly
Isaiah Rodarte, who finished 11
th . Rodarte was the second highest finishing Grizzly on the Men's side. The men did not have senior standout
Kale Adams for the race, who sat out the race but will be back in action this weekend in Canyon for the Regional race. He hopes to add a top-performance to a solid men's team, and hopefully contribute to a good team result.
The 2019 NCAA Division II South Central Regional Cross Country meet begins Saturday, November 9
th from "The Range" in Canyon, Texas beginning with the Women's 6k at 9:30 a.m. The Women's race will be followed by the Men's 10k at 10:45. Live stream will be provided by Flotrack.
