CHADRON, Neb. - The Adams State Women's Volleyball team fell in their first match of the weekend to Chadron State. The fall sets the Grizzlies back to 4-6 overall and 0-1 in RMAC.
The Grizzlies took 1 of 3 in their four closely matched sets. The match opened up with the tightest set of the night. With the score being tied 8 different times and 3 lead changes, Chardron took the win 25-23. Set two was also close, but not as tight. The Grizzlies trailed for most of the game, but tied the score twice throughout the set. Adams State fell in set two 25-20.
The Grizzlies came out on top of set 3, winning 25-17. The Eagles came out with a quick 3-0 lead, Adams State came back scoring five straight to reclaim the lead. The Grizzlies led for the remainder of the set to their victory. The Grizzlies led the beginning of the fourth set, but the Eagles came back and led for the remainder of the set, winning 25-17.
Hannah Goddard led the Grizzlies tonight with 18 kills and 10 digs. Riley Ogleive was also a huge part of the Grizzlies offense, with 11 kills. Setting up the attack were Bailey Schlosser and Maya Waddington with 24 and 11 assists. On the defensive side of things, Mackenzie Swanson had 45 digs.
Looking to bounce back, Adams State will be back on the court tomorrow night at MSU Denver. Service is set to start at 5:00 p.m.
