ALAMOSA, Colo. – The Adams State Women's Volleyball team is set to open their season this weekend in Kearney, Neb. at the Loper Preseason Invite. The Grizzlies have a pair of double headers at 11:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m. CST on Friday, Sept. 6th and 9:00 a.m. and 1:00 p.m. CST on Saturday, Sept. 7th.
The Grizzlies will first take on the host school Nebraska Kearney at 11:00 a.m. Then in the afternoon Adams State will face Oklahoma Baptist at 3:00 p.m. This will be the second time in the programs history Adams State has gone head-to-head with both Nebraska Kearney and Oklahoma Baptist.
The Grizzlies first faced the Lopers back in 2014 in Pueblo, Colo. where Nebraska Kearney came out on top, winning 3-0 in the match. The last time Adams State saw Oklahoma Baptist was for the 2017 preseason in Bolivar, Mont. The Grizzlies came our victorious, winning the match 3-2.
Adams State looks to improve on their season from last year going 12-14 overall, and 9-9 in RMAC. The Grizzlies are ranked 9th on the RMAC preseason coaches poll, one spot below school rival, Fort Lewis.
