ALAMOSA, Colo. – The Adams State Grizzlies Men's and Women's Basketball teams are back in action at home for the second straight weekend, as they prepare for the Westminster Griffins on Friday and the Dixie State Trailblazers on Saturday. Women's games will begin at 5:30 nights with tip-off for the Men directly following at 7:30.

On the Men's Side

The Grizzlies went 1-1 last weekend in a pair of conference games, defeating Colorado Christian on Friday and losing a back and forth game to Regis on Saturday. The Grizzlies have picked up their shooting as of late, and have gotten exceptional guard play led by
Juwan Green and
Szymon Walczak. They now prepare for a pair of Utah teams, both of which come into the weekend with winning records both overall in within RMAC play. Westminster makes the long trip to Alamosa fresh off of a decisive 77-62 victory against Colorado Mesa. The Griffins sit at 12-7 overall and 7-6 in conference play. The Grizzlies hope to shatter their 3-game win streak Friday night at Plachy Hall. On Saturday, the Grizzlies are set to host 19
th-ranked Dixie State, who come in winners of 5 in row. Their last loss, however, came against MSU-Denver who the Grizzlies demolished at home 91-73 back on January 4
th. This is a testament to the fact that no one is untouchable in the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference, and the Grizzlies have shown that when they play to their top potential, they can beat just about anyone.

On the Women's Side

Last weekend featured both a lackluster loss on Friday night against Colorado Christian, as well as a dominant victory over Regis, which gave the Grizzlies their third win of the season. They now turn their sights to Westminster and Dixie State, both of which present difficult challenges for the Grizzlies, with each coming in with a winning record. Friday, the Grizzlies will take on 21
st-ranked Westminster, who were upset last Friday 44-45 by Western Colorado. They then followed up the tough defeat with a 55-51 victory over Colorado Mesa, which put them at 11-2 within RMAC play. Saturday's game against Dixie State features another tough matchup against the Trail Blazers, who come in with an 8-5 RMAC record. This weekend's Women's Basketball games will both be "Pink-Out" games, and fans are encouraged to wear pink to the games to support Play for Kay, a cause commemorating former NCAA coach Kay Yow, and raising awareness for all forms of women's cancer.

Tip-off for the women's games both nights are set for 5:30 with the men directly following at 7:30 from Plachy Hall. Remember to wear pink and come out to support your Grizzlies!
