ST. GEORGE, Utah – The Adams State Grizzlies Baseball team dropped their first game of a four game series at Dixie State Friday, falling 9-1. The Grizzlies will be back in action bright and early tomorrow for a doubleheader against the Trailblazers, with games starting at 12 and 3 PM.
 
Alfredo Villa got the start for the Grizzlies, and unfortunately suffered the loss in his fourth start of the season. In 5.2 innings of work, Villa gave up 5 earned runs striking out one batter. The loss is Villa's second on the year, bringing his record to 1-2.
 
The Trailblazers got up early in the ballgame, and nursed a 4-0 leaded headed into the fourth inning. Adams State's Noah Befus did his best to try and stop the bleeding, as he doubled to center, scoring Matt Bathauer. After four, the Grizzlies trailed the 24^th-ranked Trailblazers by three runs.
 
Starting in the 6^th inning, which would be Villa's final inning of action, The Trailblazers kicked off their late game scoring run, putting up five unanswered runs in the final three innings to give them a 9-1 lead. In the end, the Grizzlies fell, and will look to bounce back at tomorrow's doubleheader. Their hope is to support their starting pitching with better early-game run support, and give themselves a chance.
