BETHELEHEM, Penn.– When the men's College Gold 8K race of the Lehigh Paul Short run concluded, youth was served in Adams State University's efforts.
Four freshmen finished in the top 100.
Ahmed Sado posted a time of 23:49.5 and finished 18th.
James Dunne, another freshman, placed 40th in a time of 24:13.4.
Mikah Paiz, yet another freshman, was 47th in a time of 24:18.5.
Junior
Isaiah Rodarte was 73rd n a time of 24:32.8, and freshman Yonas Hale turned in a time of 24:42.7, which put him in 88th place.
The Grizzlies' women's team ran a 6K race at the same meet.
Brianna Robles, a sophomore, finished in a time of 20:36, which put her in 21st place. Franziska Althaus, a junior, was close behind with her time of 20:36. She finished 22nd.
Morgan Hykes finished her race in a time of 21:03.4, which put her in 48th place.
Fiona Hawkins, a freshman, was 51st in a time of 21:04.1. Previous Robinson was 60th overall in a time of 21:14.4.
The Grizzlies also turned in a pair of top-10 finishes in the point standings. The women's team was fifth, and the men's team wound up seventh.
The Grizzlies will close out the regular portion of their season next week when they run at the FHSU Tiger Open in Victoria, Kan.
