ALAMOSA, Colo. — After much delay and anticipation, the Adams State Grizzlies played Black Hills State. The excitement lasted until the final seconds.
Black Hills State came out fast as they scored two goals in the first half. The Grizzlies also scored in the first half, but Black Hills State won the half.
The second half was a different story. The Grizzlies scored again in the second half, making the score 2-2. Black Hills State and the Adams State Grizzlies fought hard for the rest of the game. The regular time ended. The Grizzlies and Black Hills State went into overtime.
The overtime was just as intense as the two halves prior. The first 10 minutes went by and no goal from either team. The game went into a second overtime. 10 minutes went by yet again and no goal by both teams. The game ended in a tie as no team scored in overtime.
"Very proud of our team today. These young women deserve the world right now. They've faced a lot of adversity today with travel problems and everything it took to get here," said Head Coach
Colin Baker. " The work rate and togetherness was there. We move into Sunday ready to go and face anything that comes our way."
Up next the Grizzlies continue on the road as they play Metropolitan State Univeristy of Denver on Sunday, October 17th.
