Box Score RAPID CITY, S.D.—The Adams State University Grizzly volleyball team forced the first two sets of Saturday's Rocky Mountain Athletic (RMAC) match with South Dakota Mines to extra points and won the third set but dropped the overall match to the Hardrockers in four sets.
Adams State fell by scores of 30-28, 26-23, 16-25 and 25-14.
The first set needed multiple extra points as the Grizzlies came back and tied the set on several occasions. The Grizzlies fell 30-28 as they only had 14 kills in the first set but aided the Hardrockers with eight errors. As a team they hit .133 in the set.
The second set saw Adams State hit .114 with six errors but 11 kills. They did post three blocks in the game. The Grizzlies once again forced extra points but fell 26-24.
The third set saw the Grizzlies jump out to an early lead and they did not relinquish the lead thinks to six errors by the Hardrocker attackers.
Cindy Garcia was the top attacker for the Grizzlies with 14 kills.
Adams State will return to action this Tuesday when they host New Mexico Highlands for an RMAC match at 7:00 p.m. inside Plachy Hall.
