MBB | Grizzlies head to Pueblo for All Kay Shrine Classic

ALAMOSA, Colo. — The Adams State University Men's basketball team will hit the road this weekend as they are set to participate in the 2021 Al Kaly Shrine Classic, hosted by CSU Pueblo, against Bacone College Okla. and Spurgeon College.
 
Adams State played in the 2021 Conference Match Up last weekend against Texas Permian Basin and Western New Mexico University. It was a tough road trip for the Grizzlies as they just fall short against Texas Permian Basin 79-77. They had five grizzlies scoring in double figures, Rylan O' Brien had the highest with 15 points followed by Hayden Meakes with 13 points. Saturday's game against Western New Mexico University  saw transfer Jordan Doss score a career-high of 24 points.
 
The Grizzlies, now 0-2 on the season, play Bacone college (Okla.) on Friday, November 19th at 3:00 p.m. They will remain at the same gym for a game on Saturday, November 20th at 3:00 p.m. to take on Spurgeon College.
 
This will be the first time the Grizzlies will match up against these opponents.
 
Bacone College has played a total of nine games this season, three of the nine have been conference games. They are still looking for there first win of the 2021-22 season. There last conference game played was against Haskell Indian Nations University November 13th ending in a loss 71-80.
 
The next team the grizzles will match up this weekend will be against Spurgeon College Saturday, November 20th at 3:00 p.m.
 
Spurgeon College has played in eight games this season and are still looking for their first win for the 2021-22 season. There last game was against Central Christian college of the Bible, it was a close the whole game, but Knights still fell short 75-81. They had three players scoring in high figures, Trey Black 21 points, Rodrigo Nunez 21 points, and Jackson King with 19 points.
 
Adams State will close the out their preseason games with playing in Puerto Rico next weekend when they play two of the three NCAA schools on the islands.
 
Adams State will then host there first conference game at home against New Mexico Highlands University Friday, December 3 at 7:30 p.m.
