WBB| Grizzlies to battle in Holiday Inn Thanksgiving Classic

GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. – The Adams State Grizzlies will play in Grand Junction in the Holiday Inn-Airport Thanksgiving Classic. They will be playing Montana Western on Friday, November 26th and SAGU American Indian College on Saturday, November 27th. Both games are set to tip off at noon.

After the Grizzlies first win over Northern New Mexico College, 83-54, they will travel to Grand Junction, Colorado to play at Colorado Mesa's gym. All eyes will be looking towards senior guard, Stephanie Ruiz. In the most recent game against Northern New Mexico College, she surpassed the mark of 750 all-time points in her season-high game of 20 points. She was also high scorer of the night and trailing behind her was Laura Gutierrez with 18 points.

The first opponent for the Grizzlies is Montana Western. The Bulldogs will have just come off games against The College of Idaho Yotes and Eastern Oregon in which they won both. Last year the Bulldogs were 17-10 overall and 12-8 in conference, averaged 70.0 points per game, only allowed 62.0 points per game or their opponents, and won with a scoring margin of 8.0. Brynley Fitzgerald is a key returner for the Bulldogs and she averaged 31.6 minutes per game, 16.9 points, 5.7 rebounds, and is 37.5% from the three-point line.

Then for the Grizzlies, is SAGU Native American college. This school was established in 1957 by U.S. Missionaries of the Assemblies of God to prepare Native American service to God and others.

Up next for the Grizzlies will be their first two games of conference. The Grizzlies will be at home for their conference openers against New Mexico Highlands and University of Colorado Colorado Springs next Friday and Saturday, Dec. 4 and 5th. Tip off is scheduled for 5:30 p.m.
