GOLDEN, Colo.—The Adams State University wrestling season opened on Sunday as a total of eight wrestlers from Adams State competed in the 2021 Mines Rookie Open, however, just two were attached.
The two attached wrestlers were Carl Figueroa, who went 0-2 at 141 pounds, and Benjamin Tønnessen, who also went 0-2, at 197 pounds.
Dale Van Matre (141 pounds),
Kieran Thompson (149 pounds), Travis Vialpando (157 pounds), AJ Van Matre (165 pounds), Noah Henderson (184 pounds) and
Abraham Garcia (285 pounds) all wrestled unattached.
The Grizzlies return to action on Saturday, Nov. 13 when they travel to Grand Junction for the Maverick Open hosted by Colorado Mesa University.
