ALAMOSA, Colo.—A 10-0 run by the MSU Denver Roadrunners in the early part of the second half as enough to distance themselves from the Adams State University Grizzlies on Friday night inside Plachy Hall on Friday night. The Grizzlies fell to the Roadrunners 77-66.
Adams State kept with the Roadrunners in the first half with their nine players in rotation. Both teams were unable to get started early as both teams connected on 33 percent from the field.
Trailing 33-29 at the break, The Roadrunners scored the first ten points of the half to build a lead. However, Adams State was able to close within seven multiple times.
Late in the game tensions rose as two technical and flagrant fouls were called granting the Roadrunners six straight free throws. They only connected on two of them, however, the Roadrunners hit key shots late to close the game.
Kolby Walker was the leading scorer for the Grizzlies with 18 points while O'Brien scored ten points.
The Grizzlies will be back in action on Saturday when they host Colorado Christian at 7:30 p.m.
