GRAND JUNCTION, Colo.—The Adams State University softball team held the lead in both games during Sunday's doubleheader, however, the bats from No. 22 Colorado Mesa overpowered the Grizzlies as they capped off a four-game series with two five inning wins, 13-2 and 8-0.
Game 1: Colorado Mesa 13, Adams State 2
Adams State jumped out to a 1-0 lead in the top of the second inning as

Belinda Vargas. The Mavericks then scored their 13 runs, five in the second and eight in the fourth before a
Jade Garbiso single in the fifth closed out the scoring.
Garbiso was tabbed with the loss as she pitched 3.2 innings surrendering 12 runs, only seven earned, on ten hits and two walks.
Game 2: Colorado Mesa 8, Adams State 0
The second game saw the Mavericks score a single run in the first and then six runs in the fourth inning on two home runs and a walk off sacrifice fly in the fifth inning.
In the game Adams State mustered two hits and committed three errors.

The Grizzlies will look to right the ship next Friday and Saturday, March 27 and 28, when they host the University of Colorado at Colorado Springs in two doubleheaders.
