Isaiah De La Cerda was named the RMAC Wrestler of the Year after he earned All-American honors at last week's NCAA Division II Championships. De La Cerda finished in seventh place in the tournament. In addition, De La Cerda was the 125-pound Super Region Champion. De La Cerda finished the 2020-21 season with an 9-3 overall record with two technical falls and two falls.
Redshirt junior Jonathan Andretta was named to the All-RMAC First Team after he finished the season with a 7-1 season record that included four falls. He finished in third at the NCAA Division II Super Regional tournament. Due to COVID-19 participation restrictions, he narrowly missed out on advancing to the NCAA Championships.
"The whole season itself was challenging," said Ramstetter. "The reduced competition dates and qualifications hurt everyone in the region as it did us."
Noah Hermosillo, a redshirt junior, was also named to the All-RMAC First Team as he was an All-American at the NCAA Championship with a sixth-place finish. He joined De La Cerda as a Super Regional Champion. Hermosillo finished with a 10-3 overall record including two falls and he went 1-1 in overtime matches.
