MSOC | Grizzlies battle, fall to No. 14 Orediggers in overtime

ALAMOSA, Colo.— An early stalemate saw the Adams State University Grizzlies and No. 14 Colorado School of Mines Orediggers battle the bipolar spring weather elements at the ASU Soccer Field before the Ordiggers came away with a 2-1 win in overtime.

Adams State, now 0-3-0 in the regular season and conference play, scored the opening goal of the game in the 53rd minute as a pass from deep inside the defensive zone found Benjimin Rogers at midfield. Rogers than dribbled the rest of the way and fired his first goal of the season.

The Orediggers, now 2-0-0 with both wins coming over the Grizzlies, tied the game up in the 82nd minute as Greyson Adams connected on a corner kick. As regulation ended both teams were squared up. The Orediggers maintained control the entire four minutes over overtime and Michael Spraur scored the game-winner in the 94th minute.

Adams State was outshot 18-4 including 6-0 in the first half. Grizzly netminder Michael Geary made four saves while allowing two goals.

The Grizzlies return to action on April 2 when they host Colorado Christian at 3:00 p.m.
