MSOC | Grizzlies fall to Cougars, 1-0

ALAMOSA, Colo. – The Adams State University Grizzlies men's soccer team took on Colorado Christian University at the ASU Soccer Field on Thursday afternoon. The weather was perfect as the game begun. The set up was great for the highly anticipated game between ASU and CCU. Unfortunately, after a long, hard-fought game, CCU walked away with a 1-0 victory.

Adams State, now 0-4 in RMAC and on and season play battled CCU until the very last second. CCU scored the only tally in the 36th minute by Liam Lakey, with the assist from Gabe Roloff. ASU also gave up three shots on goal that half, while having zero.

The shots on goal count was low for this match up, meanwhile, the foul count was rather high. In total CCU committed 14 fouls, while ASU only committed nine. However, later in the second half ASU was given two yellow cards. ASU finished the game with zero shots on goal, to CCU's five. Both teams had multiple opportunities has ASU tallied five corner kicks while CCU tallied seven.

CCU is now 5-4 on the season with a 1-3 conference record. The Grizzlies will return to action Thursday, April 8th, at ASU Soccer Field against CSU Pueblo, starting at 3:30 p.m.
